Yard mess more than a metaphor
Even the 1940s-era toilet Amy Vickers used as a planter behind her Homewood home is in dispute.
She says it was a gift from a thoughtful neighbor. The city claims she scavenged it when a not-so-supportive neighbor left it on the curb for pickup.

Great article. I thought Homewood's offbeat style and diversity of homes and homeowners was it's attraction. Conforming the city to every other Walmart, Starbuck, McDonalds town in America would be both unfortunate and sad.
Furthermore, if Barry McCulley actually said what is quoted, he should be slapped in the head with a hallibut and asked never to drive again.
